FNUS75 KSLC 181119 FWSSLC Spot Forecast for Boulder Top...US FS National Weather Service Salt Lake City UT 519 AM MDT Sat Jul 18 2026 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0600 MDT on July 18. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...Moisture remains in place over the region today, bringing another day of shower and thunderstorm activity over the high terrain. Boulder Mountain will remain the hotspot for showers and thunderstorms to begin developing after 1100, with storms favoring a southwest progression after forming over the high plateau. While a majority of storms are anticipated to pass to the north and west of the fire area, there will still be an enhanced risk of frequent lightning strikes around the fire area, likely striking outside the core of the storm. Any storms that do end up moving over the fire area will likely bring moderate to heavy rainfall. Gusty outflow winds are expected this afternoon as storms form over the high plateau and drift slowly off the terrain, with the most likely outflow wind direction coming from the northwest. Shower and thunderstorm activity is expected to continue until around 2000, however, there will still be a low (30-40%) chance for showers to move over the fire overnight. .TODAY...
