A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE LAND AREAS OF YASAWA,

SOUTHERN BUA, UDU POINT, COASTAL AREAS OF RA-RAKIRAKI, TAVEUNI AND

NEARBY SMALLER ISLANDS, LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUPS, KADAVU AND NEARBY

SMALLER ISLANDS.



Situation: A high pressure systems to the south of the country

continues to generate and direct a fresh to strong southeast wind

flow over the Fiji group.

Forecast to midnight Sunday    for the Fiji group:

Expect southeast winds with wind speeds up to 45km/hr and gusts up to

55km/hr over the land areas of Yasawa, Southern Bua, Udu Point,

Coastal areas of Ra-Rakiraki, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau

and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Rough to

very rough seas.

Elsewhere, moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.



Cloudy periods with some showers over Serua-Namosi,

Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove,

Udu Point, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti

groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Elsewhere, mainly fine.

Cool at night.

Outlook for Monday     : Southeast winds with wind speeds up to

40km/hr gusting to 50km/hr continue to prevail over the land areas of

Yasawa, Southern Bua, Udu Point, Coastal areas of Ra-Rakiraki,

Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu

and nearby smaller islands. Winds gradually easing. Elsewhere,
