...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON...



* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...Gila County in east central Arizona...

  Coconino County in north central Arizona...

  Yavapai County in west central Arizona...



* WHEN...Until 145 PM MST Sunday.



* IMPACTS...Flooding of creeks and normally dry washes is imminent or

  occurring.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 742 AM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly

    in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.

  - This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...

    Turkey Creek, West Webber Creek, Alder Creek, Spring Wash, Clover

    Creek, South Fork Deadman Creek, Verde River, Dry Wash, Davenport

    Wash, Walker Creek, Willow Creek, West Clear Creek, Sycamore

    Creek, Deadman Creek, Hardscrabble Creek, Fossil Creek, Tangle

    Creek, North Fork Deadman Creek, Long Canyon, Corduroy Wash,

    Clear Creek, Toms Creek, Chevelon Canyon, Wet Bottom Creek, Horse

    Creek and West Chevelon Canyon.

    Creek, Hunter Creek, Ellison Creek Cascades, Kohls Ranch,

    Whispering Pines and Washington Park.

    State Route 260 between mile markers 238 and 285. State Route 188

    between mile markers 267 and 276. State Route 87 between mile

    markers 230 and 292.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.



Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not

attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
