Fire weather concerns will remain relatively low in the coming days. A strong storm system will arrive on Monday/Tuesday with increased rain potential including the threat for a few thunderstorms. As a deep surface low crosses the area, strong synoptic winds will develop with gusts likely reaching the 45 to 55 mph range. While this will likely support non-zero fire concerns, minimum humidity levels will likely hold above 40 percent for most if not all locations and preclude greater concern. Winds should peak early Tuesday with a gradual decrease in magnitude through the late afternoon and evening. Rain potential from the passing storm system should lead to fairly expansive wetting rains with the heaviest amounts favoring far northern Nebraska through central and eastern Nebraska where one inch or greater amounts are possible.
