Critical fire weather conditions are not expected over the next 7 days. Heavy rainfall will continue over the San Juan tonight, with rain changing to heavy snow early Monday morning as snow levels fall. The San Juan Range and the San Luis Valley will be at an elevated risk for flooding the next few days, especially from this afternoon into Monday, due to heavy rainfall and potential melting snow. Elsewhere across the area, showers will continue over the mountains and valleys tonight, gradually changing to snow by Monday morning above 9000 feet. Precipitation amounts away from the San Juans will be lighter, though the higher peaks of the central mountains could see a few inches of snow by late Monday afternoon. Precipitation will spread across the eastern mountains and plains late tonight into Monday as a cold front moves through, with strong north winds and rain likely into Monday evening. Drier and warmer conditions return Tuesday, then unsettled weather develops for Wednesday, with at least a chance of higher elevation snow showers and lower elevation rain showers at many locations. Afternoon smoke dispersion will reach good or better levels on Monday due to strong transport winds.
