Isolated showers will continue across the region today, with a drying trend starting tonight and continuing through much of the week. There will be increasing west to northwest onshore winds this afternoon, strongest across coastal and desert areas where gusts of 25 to 40 mph can be expected. Weak offshore winds are likely at times, much of the week during the morning hours, with a potential uptick in offshore wind strength and coverage by Friday or Saturday. The offshore winds will bring a warming and drying trend that will likely peak Friday into Saturday when temperatures in the 80s could become common across coastal and valley areas. With moderately high tides and increasing onshore winds today, there is the potential for minor coastal flooding near times of high tide this afternoon across LA/Ventura county beaches. This threat will likely continue into tomorrow with additional coastal flooding concerns later in the week when tide levels once again increase above 7 feet.
